Aadhar Card Correction – Update your Aadhar Data in 2 Simple Ways: Aadhar card is a very important document issued by UIDAI. Every citizen of India will be issued a unique ID number and that is Aadhar number. The process of applying for Aadhar is quite easy and if you want to make any corrections to the form after the issuing, it is easy too. Sometimes, you may need to change your name or any other info on the Aadhar card, which provokes Aadhar Card Correction. Most of the times, the initiative to change the details on the card arise if the applicant gets married or if wrong info is provided prior.

In the offline mode, the applicant needs to visit the nearest Aadhar center to get the work done while in the online mode having a registered mobile number is enough to get the work done.
How to correct Aadhar details or Update it Online?
Step 1
To update or making corrections to the info in the Aadhar card, the applicant need to have registered mobile number to receive OTP.
Step 2
Go to the official website of UIDAI i.e., https://resident.uidai.gov.in/ and click “Update Aadhaar Data” button.
After that, you will see the page from Self Service Update Portal. Now, click on ‘To Submit your update/Correction Request Online – Click Here’
Step 3
On clicking the option, the page shown below will appear.
Step 4
Enter your 12 digit Aadhar card number and enter the verification text in the box and click on ‘Send OTP’. You will receive an OTP to your registered mobile number.
On the Data Update Request page, you need to tick the info that you want to change or update and submit.
Step 5
A new page will open where you need to enter the changes for the options you have chosen to change. After entering the details click on ‘Submit Update Request’.
You will later be navigated to a confirmation page where all the modified details will appear. After checking them thoroughly, click on ‘Modify’.
Step 6
Now you will be navigated to a new page where you will need to attest the soft copies of important documents. After successful submission of the request, a Uniform Request Number (URN) will be generated and will be sent to the user through SMS, which can be used to check the status.
How to make corrections or update to Aadhar details offline?
- Visit the nearest Aadhar enrollment center and fill in the form with appropriate changes you want to make.
- Submit the form.
You can also change/update the data in the Aadhar card by sending the change request application through post. You will also need to fill up the form and send it with attested document proofs like ration card, passport, voter ID, bank statement, driving license etc.
