AFCAT 2018
Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) has released an employment notification for the recruitment of commissioned officers in flying, and ground duty in short and permanent service commission. AFCAT is a recruitment examination organized by the Indian Air Force (IAF). The examination is held twice a year in the months of February and August, applications to which are made available in December and June respectively. AFCAT 2018 Examination can be taken by both Male and Female Candidates who have completed their Graduation. The Other Details Related To AFCAT 2018 are given below-
AFCAT 2018 Details-
Name of Post– Commissioned Officer.
Age Limit– Candidate’s age must be in between 20 to 24 years.
Educational Qualification
For Flying Branch
- Candidate must have a graduate in any discipline with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or B.E/B. Tech with minimum 60% marks. OR
- Candidates must have secured 60% marks in Section A & B examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India).
For Ground Duty (Technical)
- Candidates must have a graduate level degree in any discipline with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level with minimum 60% marks. OR
- A candidate must have completed 4 years graduation or integration Post graduation in Engineering/Technology OR
- A candidate must obtain 60% marks in Section A & B examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India).
For Ground Duty (Non-Technical)
Candidates must have graduation level degree any discipline with minimum 60% marks and obtain 60% marks in Section A & B examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India).
Selection Process– The candidate will be selected on the basis of written test and Medical Exam.

Submission of Online Applications– 20th Dec 2017 – 14th Jan 2018
AFCAT 01 2018 Admit Cards- 31st Jan 2018
AFCAT 2018 (1) Exam Date- 25th February 2018
AFCAT 01 2018 Result Declaration– 1st week of April 2018

- Read the notification carefully
- If you are eligible then click on the Apply Online link
- New User will have to register first
- Already registered candidates can login with registration ID and password
- Fill all the required detail in the AFCAT 1 2018 online form
- Upload your scanned copy of passport size photograph, signature, and other required documents
- Recheck each detail in application form and submit it

Selection Process for Technical Branch
Applicants of technical branch have to take up AFCAT and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) and qualify in the exams to get the job. The exam will be held for two hours and it is a multiple choice exam. Candidates who got qualified in the written exam will be promoted for next rounds that will be held in two different stages.
State I
Stage I consists of:
- Intelligence test
- Documents verification
Stage II
Stage 2 consists of:
- Psychological test
- Group tests
- Interview
Selection Process for Flying Branch
Applicants of Flying branch posts should appear for AFCAT and EKT exams and should qualify in them. It is a multiple choice exam and will be held for 2 hours. Applicants who got qualified in the written exam for flying branch will be promoted for further rounds such as:
- Intelligence Test
- Psychological test.
- Other Essential Tests.
- Document Checking.
- Group Tests interview.
- CPSS (Computerised Pilot Selection System) and or PABT.
Selection Process for Duty Branch
Applicants have to take up the AFCAT and EKT exams conducted by IAF and needs be qualified to get the job. The exam will be a multiple choice exam that will be held for 2 hour. On clearing the exam, candidates will be sent to further rounds that include:
- Intelligence Test.
- Psychological test.
- Other Essential Tests.
- Document Checking.
- Group Tests interview.
These are the selection rounds conducted by IAF to shortlist the candidates for the job in various branches. There will be quite heavy competition as AFCAT is a national level exam. So, applicants need to make sure that they give their best shot in the exam. Candidates need to get their best performance in each of the selection round conducted in respective branches to grab the job.
