AP Police Constable Selection Process
Andhra Pradesh Police Department has released a notification recently welcoming applications for various posts of in the department. We have written a notification article about it as soon as the official notification is released. Now as the exam is just at a spitting distance, all the candidates who have applied for the AP Constable posts are looking for the selection procedure. So, today we have come up with the selection procedure of AP Constable. Andhra Pradesh Police Constable Selection procedure
The selection procedure is purely based on the performance of the candidates in the preliminary written exam followed by Physical Measurement Test (PMT), followed by Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and followed by Final written examination. So, let us take a look at each of the rounds that candidates need to go through in order to reach the final round of selections.
Preliminary written test
The first and foremost thing that candidates will face is the preliminary written test. The written exam will be conducted in one paper for 200 marks. There will be 200 questions and the exam will be conducted for 3 hours. Candidates need to secure minimum marks of 40% for OCs, 35% for BCs and 30% for SCs/STs/ExServicemen in order to get qualified in the exam. The questions will be objective type and the languages include English, Telugu, and Urdu.
Physical Measurements Test (PMT)
Candidates who get qualified in the preliminary written test will be eligible to appear for Physical Measurements Test. Below is the table of contents about the standards that need to be qualified by the candidates.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for Constable and Warder (Male)
Men and women candidate must and should qualify in the 100 meters run, long jump and 1600 meters run in PET. PET carries 100 marks.

For 100 meters run, 30 marks are allotted. For long jump, 30 marks are allotted and for 1600 meters run, 40 marks are allotted.
Final written examination
For Constable and Warder (Male)
Candidates who made it to PMT and PET will be eligible to appear for final written examination in one paper. The exam will be conducted for 200 marks for three hours.
For Warder (Female)
Candidates who made it to PMT and PET will be eligible to appear for final written examination in one paper. The exam will be conducted for 100 marks for three hours.
Final selection
For constable (Civil) (Man/Women)
The final selection process for the constable posts both men and women will be based on the merit shown by the candidates in all the previous rounds.
For Constable (AR) (Men/Women)
The final selection process of the candidates will be done on the merit of the candidates shown in the previous rounds.
For Warder Posts
The final selection process of the candidates will be done on the merit of the candidates shown in the previous rounds. For selection of candidate for warder post, the rule of reservation to local candidates is not applicable.
