Madhya Pradesh becomes first state to have happiness department
State cabinet meeting lead by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken an initiative to start a ‘Happiness Department’ in the state. Madhya Pradesh becomes the first state in India to start ‘Happiness Department’. This department will work as knowledge resource centre on the subject of happiness on the lines of Bhutan. This department with work under a working committee headed by a chairman and will evaluate the state’s gross happiness.

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has commissioned another 250 MW unit based on eco-friendly Circulating Fluidised Bed Combustion (CFBC) technology using low-quality coal as the primary fuel. The unit has been started at Bhavnagar Energy Company 2×250 MW thermal power project, in Gujarat.

India has slipped to third position on business optimism index after sticking to the top position for two quarters because of the delays in key reforms like the GST and bad loans facing state-owned banks. 96% rural electrification completed in Odisha
On Friday, The Odisha government said that the 96% of electrification work has been completed in the villages of the state. Energy Secretary R.K. Verma said of 47,677 villages in the state as per the 2011 census, around 45,236 villages constituting around 96 percent have got power connectivity by June 30.

Chinese bullet trains cross each other at world-record speeds of 420km/hour
Two bullet trains in China have crossed each other at a world record speed in opposite directions on parallel tracks. The two trains “Golden Phonix” and “Dolphin Blue” travelling at 420 km per hour crosses on lines between Zhengzhou in the central Henan Province and Xuzhou in the eastern Jiangsu Province.
