Kargil Vijay Diwas observed on 26th July
Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed on 26th July in honour of the Kargil War’s bravos. Defence minister Manohar Parikar and three service chief paid their homage to Kargil martyrs at Amar Jawan Jyoti, India Gate, New Delhi. In 1999, Indian Armed Forces, as part of Operation Vijay, recaptured Indian posts in Kargil which had been occupied by Pakistan’s army.

New monsoon forecast model will come front next year

Madhavan Rajeevan, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) said that a dynamical model is being tested at Indian Institute of Trophical Meteorology (IITM) Pune for a decade was ready for operational purposes next year.
