Child sex ratio in Rajasthan falls down
The Child Sex Ratio (CSR) has fell down in Rajasthan as the number of girl child’s in the state were fewer compared to previous years. As per census 2011, there is a steep fall of 21 points in child sex ratio, and in the same year CSR fell to sub 900 levels in the state. As per 2001 census, it was 909 but after a decade it came down to 888. In total of 33 districts in the state, only 10 districts had a CSR of 900 or above.
India ranked 35th in Logistics Performance Index 2016
As per the Logistics Performance Index 2016, India was ranked 35th among 160 other countries in World Bank Group. In this list, Germany was placed in the first place for the third time.
Second BRICS Youth Summit ends in Guwahati
The second BRICS summit which was inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal was held in Assam from July 1st to July 3rd, 2016. The summit was held with a theme of “Youth as bridge for intra-BRICS exchanges.”
1st meeting of BRICS in Visakhapatnam
The first ever meeting of BRICS Working Group on Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency started in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh by Power Ministry of India. This is a two day meeting for which all the members of the group like Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa will attend.
Smart model village pilot project inaugurated by President
On Saturday, President Pranab Mukherjee has inaugurated a smart model village pilot project at Rashtrapti Bhavan. The president addressed the gathering and said that in the last four years of his presidency this was the first time that he was having the privilege of interacting with several sarpanches and village-level functionaries at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Three of the gunmen from Dhaka terror attack are from elite schools
Three of the gunmen who created chaos in Dhaka’s café by killing 20 people have been identified after their photographs were released through press. One of the three killers were identified to be a son of member of the ruling Awami League, Rohan Ibne Imtiaz. The other two were identified to be students of Scholastica.
Reshuffle of Union Cabinet will take place on Tuesday
On Tuesday at 11 AM, the Union Council of Ministers will undergo a reshuffle. This reshuffling will affect the political priorities in UP where elections are yet to be held. This reshuffling will help fill in the gaps in the ministry like sports portfolio which was left free by Assam Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal and few other gaps.
AI-Qaida asks Indian Muslims to carry lone-wolf operations in country
After creating chaos in Dhaka’s café by killing 20 innocents, now Al-Qaida on Sunday asked Indian Muslims to carry out lone-wolf attacks in the country citing the strikes in Europe. The head of Al-Qaida in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), Asim Umar, issued a statement “inciting Indian Muslims to rise up and to follow the example of lone wolves in Europe and kill administrative and police officers in India.”
