GATE 2016 Online Application Submission Process

You can apply for GATE 2016 online by visiting the website of the respective Zonal GATE Offices, from the website of the institute which is OrganizingGATE 2016 or by visiting “http://appsgate.iisc.ernet.in”.

Registration

To apply for GATE 2016 you have to register yourself by providing a valid email address, mobile number and a valid password. One candidate can register him/herself with one email id.All the importantinformation will be deliveredto you on your registered email id. You will also have to provide your personal mobile number as you may receive some notifications via SMS.

The password selected by you during registration should be noted down safely with the Enrolment ID to login back to the application process. The password must be strong and should not be easy to crack

Enrollment ID

After the successful registration, the Enrollment ID is sent to the registered email.

What is the Data Required for Application Filling?

The following data is required for filling the forms.

1. You will have to provide your personal information that is generally asked in most of the forms such as the name, date of birth, parents name, mobile number etc.
2. You will be asked your correspondence address,
3. Degree details,
4. Details about your College or University,

5.Choice of the examination cities and the GATE paper selection,

6.An acceptable image of your photograph and your signature.

7. Scanned pdf copy of Certificates and the degree attested by the Dean/HOD’S.

8.(If applicable) you have to send a Scanned pdf copy of Category/PwD Certificate.

9.You also have to provide the details of the ID proof issued by the govt. that you would be carrying to the exam hall.

10. Net Banking details.

Application Filling

You can Save partially filled form, Logout, and resume the partially filled form by logging in again.

You can also Preview your application so that you may correct any errors is existing in the form.

No further changes to the application can be done if you press Confirm and Final Submit.

Application Fee Payment Options

All charges of the application form are nonrefundable and have to be paid in Indian Rupees.

Women candidates have to pay Rs.750 through Online Net Banking and Rs.750 through e-challan.

SC/ST/PwD candidates have to pay Rs.750 through Online Net Banking and Rs.750 through e-challan.

All other candidates have to pay Rs.1500 through Online Net Banking and Rs.1500 through e-challan.

You would be redirected to your banks website.The amount has to be paid through net-banking, debit card or e-challan. You have to confirm that the payment is for GATE 2016.

After the successful payment procedure you will be redirected back to the Online ApplicationWebsite.If you fear that your payment has been processed or not due to any reason, then you have to login back and check the payment status or you may check the status from your respective bank.If the fee is debited and is not acknowledged,then do not worry as the as amount will be credited back within seven working days.In such a case, but you will have to redo the payment procedure again immediately without waiting for the money to be credited back if you want to send your application on time.

A unique Fee Payment Number will be generated after the successful payment which MUST be noted down by the candidate for the later stages the GATE 2016 Application form filling.

NO ERROR should exist while submitting the form the information CANNOT be changed once submitted. The status of an application will be updated by the respective zonal GATE Officeafter the receipt and scrutiny of the application. You can check the status of the application anytime by logging in to the GATE portal.

Photograph and Signature Requirements

Your photograph and signature must be uploaded electronically during the submission of the application. Inappropriate Uploads may result in the disqualification of the application form

Photograph Requirements

You should upload a colored photograph of after 1 August 2015. Photographs should not be clicked from a mobile phone or any non-professional means as it may lead to the rejection of your application. Background of the photograph must be white or a very light color.The face should occupy at least 50% of the area of the photograph with a full-face view looking into the camera directly. Your face should cover 50% of the photo and should be clear. The face should be straight without any obstacle, should not be hidden and should not have shadow or reflection in spectacles.
