GHMC New Mobile App And Its Registration Process
It has been not many months since GHMC elections seen an end, it now come up with an exciting stuff that it has never come up before. It has launched mobile applications with the help of local techies. The applications are meant to serve the public in every means. The applications are developed mainly with an intention to provide information related to elections and to make a good interaction with the people of the city. It is a social initiative taken by GHMC which resulted in yielding of new apps. Commons can easily file their grievance with the Municipal Corporation using one of the apps they have released, which is named as ‘My GHMC App.’
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has introduced a new online portal and also mobile apps that works in integration with the web portal. GHMC has introduced its web portal and mobile apps to reduce the complications and reduce the delay in tackling the problems filed by the public. These apps and online portal will help a great deal in handling the issues easily and will also help eliminate the difficulty of resolving the problems form citizens.
Hyderabad Convergence Summary
The new portal launched by GHMC brings into coordination 11 departments of the city administration. The portal was named ‘Hyderabad Convergence Portal’, which will work in integration with ‘Integrated Citizen Service App’. This will reduce the time of tackling the problem and also won’t give a chance to the government departments to flaunt negligence. The portal has everything stuffed in perfectly and will provide integrated services to the public.
The Hyderabad Convergence department is divided into four main categories. The categories include connected departments, total issues raised, categories, pending issues.
Connected Departments
The web portal of GHMC has 11 convergence departments that includes Cyberabad Police, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Hyderabad Collectorate, Hyderabad Metro Development Authority, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Hyderabad Metro Rail, Hyderabad Police, Ranga Reddy Collectorate, Secunderabad Contonment Board, Telangana State Power Distribution Company Ltd and Telangana State Road Transport Corporation.
Department wise issues raised
This tab will showcase the number of issues raised by the public in aforementioned departments. As per the official web portal of Hyderabad Convergence, there are approximately 42 issues raised by the public. The web portal is clearly updated with number of issues solved and number of issues pending. The tab also contains Department wise issues received from the public.
Category wise issues (All Departments)
There are mainly seven categories of issues that were raised by the public. The issues include Traffic related issues, 2BHK Housing projects, construction of bus days, removal of religious structures, electric poles, construction of FoBs, and water conservation.
Pendency wise issues
There will be issues that will take weeks time to solve the issue while there will be few issues that will take months time to solve. Keeping track of this, GHMC has divided the departments and issues depending on the time they will take to resolve and clearly mentioned the days to solve the issues.
GHMC Official Web Portal
This new portal of GHMC will be a one stop solution for all the problems that will be raised by the citizens of Hyderabad. Now the services are just a click away from the citizens. Commons of the city can easily file their complaint through the official site of GHMC without taking any physical strain. All the 11 departments that were covered in the site will be appointed with a respective officer. This appointment of officers to each department will ultimately reduce the time from 20 days to two to three days in solving the problems raised by the public.
As soon as there is a progress in work, a soft copy of the work status will be uploaded by the officials in the official site of GHMC. The soft copy will be uploaded in the form of ‘e-Office’ in each department in the site. Citizens can know the status of the progress of work through the uploaded copy.
GHMC Action Plan
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department also introduced 100 days action plan. This action plan will include various schemes that it is going to undertake and the budget allotted for the schemes to go live, different constructions to be taken place, handling water supply connections, commissioning of reservoirs among many others. Creation of ‘Convergence Portal’ is one among the 100-day action plan schemes.
My GHMC App
As we said earlier, GHMC has launched mobile apps that work in integration with the online web portal. It has developed ‘Integrated Citizen Services App (ICSA)’ to put forth all the services it provides to the citizens of the city through a single app. The app is named as ‘My GHMC App’. This ‘My GHMC App’ provides services of Property Tax, Birth Certificate, Trade License, Grievances/Complaints, LRS/BRS and Building permissions. For now these are the services offered by the app, but soon new services will be added to the app. The app will be available in Google Play Store for download.

Unlike the official web portal, where citizens need to register in order to place a compliant, there is no such thing called registration for the apps launched for GHMC. The person can directly open the app and file a complaint considering the categories, type, address and so on. In order to register a complaint using mobile app, person needs to take a photograph of a problem like a dangerous manhole or a pothole on road and send it. Immediately the person will receive complaint number and an SMS will be send to the citizen intimating that the problem has been registered. As soon as the problem is solved by the GHMC officials, it will be uploaded in the app in the form of a photograph and intimated to the respective person who registered the complaint.
Citizens can also pay property tax and pay license fee through this app. The app will also help calculate the amount to pay. Users can also download birth and death certificates for records digitally signed on GHMC server.
