Comprehensive Guide to IBPS bank exam: Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an autonomous body set up for selection of personnel for various banks in India. Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Common Written Exam will be organized to select the aspirants for Probationary Officer or MT, Clerk, Specialist Officer and RRB Officer and Assistants. The basic eligibility criteria for appearing online exam for IBPS is university degree from the recognized university and minimum age of 18 to 28 years.

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has recently released an important notification stating IBPS exam calendar 2015. Authorities has decided to hold two-tier examinations for recruitment of PO/ MT and Clerks from CWE V onwards. Till CWE IV the recruitment process of IBPS remains unchanged. The new selection process includes Preliminary, Main examinations, Interview and Final Selection. Based on the performance in Preliminary test the applicants are invited for main IBPS bank exam. Preliminary examination marks are not considered for preparing the final merit list and only main examination marks are considered for Interview. Officials will soon release the online test pattern and the details soon. Aspirants have to apply for IBPS banking exam only once for both preliminary and main examination.

In general, the examination comprises General English, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, Reasoning, Aptitude test. From the next Common Written Examination, the willing aspirants have to appear for both preliminary and main examination. Pattern of the examination will be issued soon. IBPS conducts the CWE examinations for the following positions.
CWE Probationary Officer or Management Trainee – It is conducted to fill the vacancies of Agricultural Field Officers, Agricultural Field Officers, Law Officers, Law Officers, I.T. Officers, Rajbhasha Adhikaris, Marketing Officers, as well as Scale II- Chartered Accountants and Finance Executives.
CWE Clerk for Clerical cadre – It is conducted for filling up the clerical cadre vacancies
CWE RRB Officers and Assistants – This examination is conducted to select the candidates for Officers as well as Office Assistants in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) that are governed by NABARD.
After clearing the Main Examination, the successful applicants will get IBPS score card. Through the score card aspirants can apply for the vacancies in IBPS participated banks. Finally those organizations will conduct interview and selects the capable candidates to fill up the vacancies. This score used to fill the existing and upcoming vacancies in its participating banks. The score card is valid for one year of period from the date of announcement of results.
