IBPS Clerk Eligibility Check Age & Education
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released a notification inviting applications for the post of clerks this month. As per the notification, there are 19,243 vacancies in 19 Nationalized Banks. The online applications were being accepted from 22nd August, 2016. The last date for online application commencement is 12th September, 2016. The IBPS Clerks Prelims Exam is scheduled to be held on November 26th and 27th, December 3rd and December 4th. Interested and eligible candidates are advised to apply for the post as soon as possible. In order to be eligible to apply for the post candidates need to satisfy certain eligibility criteria.
The eligibility criteria play a vital role. Candidates must and should qualify the eligibility criteria in order to able to apply for the IBPS Clerks exam. The eligibility criteria include educational qualification, age, citizenship etc. Candidates who does not qualify any of these eligibility criteria and still apply for the post will be considered as disqualified by IBPS. So, make sure to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. Today we have come up with the eligibility criteria that need to be satisfied by the candidates in order to apply for the exam.
IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria
The IBPS Clerk eligibility criteria is the same for both prelims and mains exam. This is because candidates who got qualified in the prelims alone will be eligible to take mains exam. Candidate’s eligibility criteria play a crucial role in applying for the exam. Educational qualification and age limit are the main concerns in eligibility criteria that every candidate who wish to apply for the post need to satisfy.
Candidates need to satisfy following eligibility criteria in order to apply for the exam.

- Citizenship
Age limit
Applicants should fall in the age limit of 20 to 28. Candidate’s who were not born before 2nd August, 1988 and not later 1st August, 1996 are not eligible to apply. Age relaxation is applicable for the SC/ST/OBC candidates as per the norms of IBPS.
- For SC/ST candidates, the age relaxation is 5 years
- For OBC and other backward class candidates, the age relaxation is 3 years.
- For PWD candidates with disabilities, the age relaxation is 10 years
- For Ex-Servicemen/ECOs/SSCOs, the age relaxation is 5 years
- For persons ordinarily domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir State, the age relaxation is 5 years
- For persons who are affected by 1984 riots, the age relaxation is 5 years.

Educational Qualification
Applicants applying for the IBPS Clerk exam should have a graduate or equivalent degree from any centrally recognized university with valid marks sheet from particular discipline. Candidates must provide the percentage of marks obtained in graduation as per marks sheet. Candidates who are in their final year of studies are also eligible to apply for IBPS Clerk exam. Nevertheless, candidates need to submit proper documents from the university or board.
Computer literacy
Candidates should deal with computers if selected. So, they need to have good minimum knowledge about the operating and basics about computer. Candidates should also have proficiency in the state language in both reading and writing.
Citizenship
Citizens of India and migrated peoples from Nepal, Bhutan etc are eligible to apply.
