IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2016

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has issued a notification for the recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) or management trainee’s to fill in 8822 vacant posts in all the banks that were associated with IBPS.   Aspirants have started applying for the PO posts of IBPS.  As per the official notification released by IBPS, the online registration process commenced from July 26, 2016.  The last date for application submission is 13^th August, 2016.  In our previous post we have clearly mentioned about the complete notification, syllabus and also eligibility criteria.  Today, we are here to provide you a detailed info about the exam pattern of IBPS PO exam 2016.

The preliminary exam of IBPS PO exam is scheduled to be conducted on 16^th, 22^nd and 23^rd October, 2016.  The exam pattern will change from year to year.  Candidates need to be aware of the exam pattern in order to plan their time table for preparation.  Exam pattern is nothing by the pattern and the time frame in which the exam will be held.  Below are the     details about exam pattern of IBPS PO exam 2016.  Take a look.

Exam time table of IBPS PO 2016

• Online preliminary examination will be conducted on 16^th, 22^nd, and 23^rd of October, 2016. The exam will be held in different shifts from 9 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Online mains examination will be conducted on 20^th November, 2016 in different shifts
• The interview for the shortlisted candidates will be held on January/February 2017.

Particulars about IBPS PO Exam Patter 2016

• Both preliminary and mains exam of IBPS PO will be held online.
• The preliminary examination of IBPS PO will be held for a total of 100 marks whilst IBPS PO Mains examination will be held for a total of 200 marks. The interview will be allotted with 100 marks.
• Candidates qualified in the preliminary examination of IBPS PO will be promoted to take mains exam and shortlisted candidates of mains exam will be called to appear for the interview. The performance in all the three rounds is considered to finalize the candidate for the post.
• The candidates who have secured good score will be given final allotment in any of the participating organizations.

Online Preliminary Examination

The IBPS PO Prelims is the first online test to shortlist the candidates.  An online test on subjects like English, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability will be conducted for a total of 100 marks.

Online Main Examination

There were some modifications made by IBPS for the exam pattern of mains examination.  Sectional timing was introduced, which means each section needs to be completed within pre-defined time limit.

Interview

Candidates who got qualified in IBPS PO mains examination will be shortlisted to appear for interview.  The interview will be held for 100 marks and the performance in both prelims and mains will be considered.
