IBPS PO Selection Procedure
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) issued a notification inviting applications for Probationary Officer (PO) post. It is going to fill in the vacancies in the PO post with the help of this recruitment. It is one of the toughest exams that IBPS conducts. Huge numbers of aspirants apply for the post, which implies there will be heavy competition for the post. Every year IBPS conducts PO exam to recruit merit and talented candidates for the post. IBPS PO Selection Procedure
IBPS follows an ideal selection procedure to shortlist candidates for PO post. Most of the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Minority communities get trained to crack PO exam by various pre-examination training institutes like Nodal Banks. Candidates with good training along with effective preparation can only crack the IBPS PO exam. Many candidates clear the prelims exam, but fail to clear mains exam. To clear mains exam as well as the final interview rounds and all, candidates need to have good grip on the topics that will be asked in the paper.
Here is the selection procedure for IBPS PO exam.
Prelims Exam
Applicants of IBPS PO exam will be asked by the authority to appear for prelims exam first. Candidates need to take prelims exam that includes questions from various subjects like English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. Candidates need to obtain minimum qualifying marks in each of the subjects to get promoted for next round of selection. Below is the table that shows the exam pattern of Prelims exam.

Mains Exam
Candidates qualified in prelims exam will be eligible to appear for mains exam. Mains exam will be little tough compared to prelims exam. The subjects covered in Mains exam include reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge.

Cutoff Marks and Merit List
The cutoff marks will play a vital role in the entire selection procedure. Candidates those who qualify the cutoff marks will only make their place in the merit list. The cutoff marks change from category to category. IBPS will release the merit list of the candidates who cleared the mains exam by satisfying the cutoff marks. Cutoff marks will be decided by IBPS itself by considering various factors. The factors include the requirement, difficulty level of the paper, number of aspirants appearing for the exam etc.
IBPO PO Interview
This is the last round of selection for IBPS PO post. This round will decide whether the candidate is eligible for the job or not.
- Candidates who clear PO mains exam will be called by IBPS to appear for the interview.
- Candidates will be provided with call letters in which they can know the center of interview.
- Interview will be conducted for 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview will be less than 40%. The weightage of mains exams and interview will be 80-20.
- In order to be shortlisted for the job, candidates must and should qualify in both mains written exam and interview.
- Candidates need to carry their original documents while attending the interview.
