SBI PO Prelims Exam Analysis & Expected Cutoff

SBI PO Prelims exam was held on 2^nd and 3^rd July, 2016.  Scores of students have appeared for the exam which was conducted in various centers around the country. We are here today to analyze the cut off marks and review the exam.  The cutoff marks for the SBI PO Prelims exam could fall between 42 and 46 marks. SBI PO Prelims exam was conducted for two days i.e., on 2^nd and 3^rd of July in four slots i.e., 9 AM to 10 AM, 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, 2PM to 3PM, 4:30PM to 5:30PM.  We are now going to provide you a brief review of cutoff marks and analyze the paper of SBI PO Prelims.

The exam paper for SBI PO Prelims is for 100 marks and the paper contains a total of 100 questions.  The exam was conducted for 1 hour.  The subjects that are covered in the question paper are English, Quantitative aptitude, and Reasoning ability.

1. English Language

English language paper contains 30 questions; each question carries one mark constituting a total of 30 marks for the paper.  The detailed analysis of English language paper is given below.

1. Reading comprehension – 10 questions.

The questions were based on women contribution in various sectors

2. Cloze test – 5 questions

All the five questions cover technology and they are easy to answer.

3. Para jumble – 5 questions

They are moderate and based on insurance, a bit tricky.

4. Spotting error – 5 questions

They are moderate and candidate needs to find the error.

5. Fill in the blanks – 5 questions

They are easy to answer.

2. Reasoning Ability

Reasoning ability paper is conducted for 35 marks.  The detailed analysis of the paper is given below.

1. Puzzle – 5 questions

8 people work in different department and goes to different city

Easy.  8 people like different colors.

3. Linear Puzzle – 5 questions

Easy.  8 people sitting and facing North South in same line.

3. Quantitative Aptitude

Quantitative Aptitude paper is given for 35 marks.  The paper contains 35 questions each carrying one mark.  Below is the detailed analysis of the paper.

1. Number series – 5 questions

Easy to moderate.  Find the missing term.

2. Date Interpretation – 2 sets (10 questions)

One bar graph data interpretation was easy to solve and table graph based DI is moderate.  These are time taking questions.

3. Approximation – 5 questions

Easy

4. Quadratic Equation – 5 questions

Easy

5. Miscellaneous – 10 questions

Moderate

SBI PO Prelims Cutoff Marks 2016

The expected cutoff marks for SBI PO Prelims exam 2016 is 41 to 47 marks for general category students.  Candidates qualified in PO Prelims exam will be eligible to take SBI PO Mains exam.
