SSC CGL New Exam Pattern Tier 1 Exam Date 2016
SSC CGL exam date has been revised by the Staff Selection Commission again. It has been revised already once and this is the second time that the exam date has been changed. Staff Selection Commission has issued an official notification F.No.3/1/2016 according to which the date of Combined Graduate Level Examination 2016 has been revised again. As per the previous notification from SSC, it is said that the exam was scheduled to be conducted from 9th August, 2016, but as per the very recent notification released by SSC, it is said that the exam date was changed to 27th August, 2016. Not just the date, but also exam pattern has also changed for Tier 1 exam.
Today we are here to provide you the detailed info about the SSC CGL Tier 1 new pattern. Candidates who have applied for SSC CGL Tier 1 exam are advised to go through the details we are going to mention below to know the exam pattern. Exam patter is very important to know in order to prepare for the exam. So, all the candidates are suggested to read the below mentioned info thoroughly to make a good preparation for the exam. So far, only Tier 1 exam pattern has been changed. SSC may change the exam pattern of Tier 2 and Tier 3 too in the future. SSC CGL Tier 1 New Exam Pattern
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has rescheduled the exam date for SSC CGL Tier 1 exam and also changed the pattern for the exam.

SSC CGL Revised Scheme of Examination and Selection Procedure
At first, SSC CGL exam used to be in three stages i.e., Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 is not mandatory for all posts, but now the Tier 3 exam has been made mandatory with the introduction of descriptive paper such as essay writing/letter writing/application writing. SSC CLG Tier 3 exam is an offline exam that is conducted for 100 marks for 60 minutes.
Along with Tier 3, Tier 4 has also been introduced by the commission. This Tier 4 exam will be a Date Entry Skill Test (DEST)/Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) with no followed interview.
Changes made in SSC CGL Tier 1 exam pattern 2016
- Instead of 200 questions, there will be only 100 questions in SSC CGL Tier 1 paper. Now each question carries 2 marks.
- For each wrong answer given by the candidates, 0.5 marks will be deducted.
- The time that is scheduled to take the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is 1 hour 15 minutes.
- SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is an online exam.
SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam paper
Even though the exam pattern has been changed a lot, the sections and categories remained the same. Here is the list of sections that will be covered in the question paper and also the marks allotted to each section.
From Reasoning and general intelligence section, 25 questions will be asked and each question carries 2 marks making a total of 50 marks.
From general awareness section, 25 questions will be asked and each question carries 2 marks making a total of 50 marks.
From numerical aptitude section, 25 questions will be asked and each question carries 2 marks making a total of 50 marks.
From English comprehension section, 25 questions will be asked and each question carries 2 marks making a total of 50 marks.
The entire exam will be conducted for 200 marks.
