SSC-CHSL Syllabus 2018 – Quantitative Aptitude

Geometry: Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, angles subtended by chords of a circle, tangents, common tangents to two or more circles, Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts.

Mensuration: Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base, Triangle, Regular Polygons, Right Prism, Circle, Right Circular Cone, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Right Circular Cylinder, Quadrilaterals.

Statistical Charts: Pie-chart, Use of Tables and Graphs: Histogram, polygon, Bar-diagram, Frequency.

Trigonometry: Complementary angles, Height and distances, Standard Identities like sin20 + Cos20=1, Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios.

This consists of descriptive paper in pen and paper mode. This paper has been introduced to access your writing skills. You have to write the paper either in Hindi or English.

TIER-III Detailed Syllabus

This paper consists of Skill test/Typing test, which would be of qualifying nature.

Staff Selection Commission

Staff Selection Commission is commonly known as SSC. It is one type of organization and it is operated by Government of India. It was established on 4th November 1975 almost 40 years ago.The main duty of the commission is to appoint eligible candidates staff for various posts in various Ministries and department of the govt of India. The headquarter is located in Delhi. It has 7 regional offices they located in Allahabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore. It consists 2 sub-regional offices they situated in Raipur and Chandigarh.

It has released the notification a few months ago for Combined Higher Secondary Examination it has released for the selection of eligible candidates for postal Assistant and data entry operators and lower Divisional clerks in various govt departments on its main portal.

SSC CHSL Exam pattern

SSC Combined Higher Secondary Examination is an objective type written exam. it consists 200 questions and each question consists 1 mark. The exam duration is 2 hours. The paper consists four sections such as reasoning, General Knowledge, English and Quantitative Aptitude. The written test consists negative marking.

1. General Intelligence and Reasoning: (50 Questions – 50 Marks)

This section will include questions on Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation ,Semantic Classification, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/Number Classification, Drawing inferences ,Figural Classification ,Punched hole/pattern-folding & unfolding , Semantic Series, Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Figural Series, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Social Intelligence, Coding and decoding, Other sub-topics, if any Numerical operations.

2. English Language: (50 Questions – 50 Marks)

SSC CHSL Syllabus for English language section consists of Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting Mist-spell words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Close Passage, Comprehension Passage.

3. General Awareness : (50 Questions – 50 Marks)

Questions in SSC CHSL / LDC / DEO Syllabus of general awareness section are based on knowledge of current affairs, facts relating to India’s History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research and Neighboring Countries.

4. Quantitative Aptitude: (50 Questions – 50 Marks)

SSC CHSL Syllabus for Arithmetic’s: Number Systems: Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegations, Time and distance, Time and work.

Algebra: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations.

Geometry: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts:
