TNPSC Group 1 Notification 2016 – 2017 Apply Online for 85 Vacancies
TNPSC has issued a notification for Group 1 posts. According to the notification released, there are 85 vacancies in various Group 1 posts. TNPSC Group 1 Notification
TNPSC has released the Group 1 notification earlier November. The notification came out on 9th November this year. Scores of aspirants have been waiting for the release of the notification and finally TNPSC has come up with it. The applications are being accepted by TNPSC already and many aspirants have already applied for the available posts. We suggest the interested and eligible candidates of the state to hurry up and apply before the last date ends. There are few important positions like Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Taxes that the board is going to recruit.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Applicants applying for TNPSC Group 1 exam should possess any Bachelors degree to apply. For Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Taxes post, candidates can have degree in Law (B.L) or Commerce (B.Com) or both. Along with that, applications of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) should possess a degree or diploma in Criminology and Forensic Science. Alongside, candidates who hold National Award in Physical Efficiency will be given more preference.
Applicants of District Employment Officer post should possess degree in Economics/Sociology/Statistics and Psychology with Post Graduate Diploma in Social Science and Experience in Industrial/Personal Management/Labour Welfare.
Age limit
The age limit is different for different post and different categories. Applicants of Combined Civil Services exam should have minimum age limit of 21 years and maximum of 30 years. Candidates who belong to SC/ST, MBC, BC, BCM and other reserved categories have an upper age relaxation of 5 years. In the same way, candidates having B.L degree are eligible to get age relaxation of one year along with aforementioned limits. The age limit will be considered perfect as on 1st July, 2016.
Selection Procedure
The selection of the candidates is purely based on the merit shown by the candidates in the recruitment rounds. TNPSC will shortlist the candidates for Combined Civil Service by conducting preliminary exam in first place. Contenders who got qualified in the prelims exam will be qualified to appear for mains exam. Candidates who clear mains exam will be shortlisted for personal interview. Shortlisted candidates also need to go through physical standard and physical fitness tests. Candidates need to submit Medical Fitness certification.
Application fee
The application fee and examination fee are different for both prelims and mains exams. Applicants need to pay the application fee as per the norms of TNPSC. Reserved category candidates and woman need not to pay any of the fees to appear for the exam.
For preliminary exam, the application fee is Rs. 50/- and examination fee is Rs. 125/-.
For mains exam, the exam fee is Rs. 125/-.
Pay scale
The pay scale for the shortlisted candidates will be between Rs. 15, 600 to 39, 100 per month. Candidates will also receive a Grade pay of Rs. 5400/- per month.

How to apply for TNPSC Group 1 Exam 2016-17?
- Go visit the official site of TNPSC i.e., tnpsc.gov.in.
- Now go to tnpscexams.net’ which is the official registration portal of TNPSC.
- Find the link saying ‘One Time Registration’ and ‘Apply Now’ and click on it.
- Fill in the details appropriately. If you are a registered candidate, login using ‘Registration ID & Password’.
- On successful login, go to ‘Personal & Basic Academic Details’.
- Pay the exam fee and submit the application form.
- Take a printout of the application for future reference.
