UPSC stands for UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION which is the country’s central recruiting agency. It is responsible for appointments to and examinations for All India Services and group A & group B of Central services. UPSC Syllabus Prelims 2018: Marking Structure of UPSC- Prelims 2018
- The questions asked in the examination is of objective type questions.
- There is a negative marking scheme in the examination, for every wrong answer, the candidate will lose 33% or 0.83 marks.
- There is no negative marking in problem-solving and Decision-making section.
- A new modification is made by UPSC that IFS (Indian Forest Service) aspirants have to give UPSC Prelims, if they clear UPSC prelims, they have to write a separate mains exams for Indian Forest Service.
- An extra time of 20 min will be given to blind candidates.

UPSC Civil Service Prelims Exam Notification: The UPSC is a Government of India Organization that conducts the Civil Services Examination to fill vacancies of the Indian Civil Services Cadre. The UPSC has sent out the Official UPSC Civil Service Notification 2017 for the much-coveted posts. These include IPS, IAS, IFS, IRS, P&T Accounts & Finance, Indian Post, etc. this year there are 980 vacancies open out of which there are 27 kept for the physically handicapped category. UPSC Exam Eligibility Criteria
It is like a dream come true for those who wish to apply for the coveted exams. In order to be able to write the UPSC Civil Services Exam, the candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. He or she should have passed all exams in graduation and there is no minimum percentage required. However, there is another criterion that is taken and checked through the exam papers. Apart from the educational qualification, the candidate has to check details of age too. So in order to appear for the UPSC Civil Service Examination, a candidate must be within the age group of 21 Years and 32 Years as on 01/08/2017. The minimum age limit for writing the UPSC Civil Service Examination is 21. The Maximum age Limit for writing the UPSC Civil Service Examination is 32 years. There is a relaxation if the candidate belongs to OBC or SC/ST Category. The Maximum Age Limit is raised to 37 Years of Age for SC/ST and 35 years for OBC candidates.

Max. UPSC Exam Attempts
The Eligible candidates are allowed to appear for a maximum of six times provided they are eligible. However, this rule is relaxed in the case of the candidates who apply under the Schedule Tribe or Schedule Caste Category.
UPSC Exam Application Fee
If the candidate wishes to apply for the UPSC Civil Service Exam he or she has to pay a fee of Rs.100 / 100 INR. The UPSC Application Form can be paid for through online net banking. The candidate can also pay for the UPSC Civil Service Exam Application Form by paying cash at any SBI Branch. This rule for the UPSC Civil Service Application Form payment is relaxed in the case of the reserved categories.

UPSC Civil Services Eligibility Criteria
Education qualification
Aspirants who are applying for IFS exam should have passed graduation degree with one of subject Animal Husbandry and veterinary Science / Chemistry / Botany / Geology / Statistics / Zoology or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture / Maths / Physics / Forestry / Engineering from any affiliated institute or University.
For IAS and IFS the candidate who are eligible for IFS are eligible for IAS exam also. The Candidates who belong to Nepal, Immigrants, Bhutan and Tibetan refugees with Indian Origin they can also appear in UPSC Civil services exam.
UPSC Age limit
Aspirants should be below 32 years and minimum age should be 21 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per the Government rules and regulations.
UPSC Civil Services Application fee
For reserved candidates, the application fee is Rs 100/- and there is no need to pay an application fee those who belong to reserved category. They can apply the fee through Challan of State Bank of India or by Internet Banking or Debit card or Credit card of SBI bank.
Number of attempts for IAS
The general candidates have to apply 4 times and 7 attempts for OBC category and no attempt limits for SC / ST.
UPSC Selection procedure
Selection is based on the candidates’ performance in Civil service examination. The procedure of the exam is prelims, mains, and personal interview. First round is prelims the selected candidates in prelims were allowed to next round that is Mains after completing mains they will shortlist the candidates in the exam the shortlisted candidates were allowed to next round and that is last round i.e personal interview. After completing all round selected candidates will be placed in respective positions.

Fill the application form correctly with genuine details.
Then click on the submit button after submission of the application form you will get a registration number with unique ID. Candidates have to keep the ID safe because it is useful for further like while downloading the admit card ID is must download the admit card.
