Here are the features of the West Bengal JEE examination pattern
The exam will be based on class XI, XII Syllabus only. The examination will be in two papers
- Paper I is for Mathematics (2 hours)
- Paper II is for Physics and Chemistry (2 hours)
Question type in the examination will be of multiple choice or objective type.
In both of these papers the questions will be classified in three categories – there are category 1, category 2 and category 3. Distribution of these categories which is as below

As per this West Bengal JEE 2016 Exam Pattern the questions weightage in the category I questions will be of 1 mark and in category II and Category III, each question will carry 2 marks for the correct answer. West Bengal JEE Exam Pattern with Marking Scheme and the Provision of Negative Marking
Here is the Category wise marking scheme which is given below
Category 1:- For each correct answer there will be one mark and whereas for each wrong answer there will be deduction of 25% of total marks that is (1/4th marks). If the candidates mark more than one answer there will be negative marking for that respective question.
Category 2:- For each correct answer there will be 2 marks and where as for each wrong answer the negative marking is 25% of total marks (1/2). If the candidates mark more than one answer there will be negative marking for that respective question.
Category 3:- In this section more than 1 answer will be correct. Negative making will not be done in this category. Applicants might have to mark all the correct answers in which it will be awarded 2 marks. If the candidates mark one correct answer and one incorrect answer then no marks will be given. But if the candidates mark only correct, without making any wrong answer then below formula will be used to allocate marks in the examination.
