How is IBPS PO different from SBI PO Exam?
At present day time, banking sector is the top sector that is being preferred by most of the pass outs. Aspirants are going gaga about bank jobs and are working hard pulling all nighters. There are thousands of banks that have been conducting exams to recruit staff and the most taken exam and the exam that has most craze is Probationary Officer (PO). When it comes to PO, only two banks pop up in mind, IBPS and SBI. IBPS and SBI conduct PO exams very prestigiously and lakhs of candidates take the exam every year. Even though the position or the designation Probationary Officer (PO) is same for both IBPS and SBI, there are still many differences between IBPS PO and SBI PO. What Probationary Officer (PO) Post should have?
Probationary Officer (PO) is a big post in both IBPS and SBI. They are the decision makers and it is very important to have good knowledge of many things. What a Probationary Officer (PO) needs to have is what tested in the PO exam. Probationary Officer (PO) should be good at reasoning ability, English, Quantitative Aptitude, Data Analysis and Interpretation, General Knowledge, computer and marketing, and communication skills.
Differences between IBPS PO and SBI PO
- The one major difference that bank exam takers notice commonly is that IBPS PO exam is much easier than SBI PO exam.
- Though the first exam is a online test for both IBPS and SBI and has some similarities, still there are certain differences in the section wise scores. Also, there are few sections that are different in IBPS PO paper and SBI PO paper.
- IBPS online test consists of five sections with varying marks whilst SBI online exam has four sections each section carrying same marks.
- The reasoning ability section of SBI PO online test is quite tough compared to IBPS PO reasoning ability section.
- In IBPS exam General awareness and computer knowledge are divided into two different sections and most of the questions in the GK section trigger from banking sector. On the other hand, SBI exam has only one section that consist of both GK and computer knowledge sections. The questions are triggered about marketing.
- The quantitative aptitude testing section in IBPS is majorly arithmetic whilst the data analysis and interpretation section in SBI is based on assessment and understanding of data provided in the form of tables.
- SBI PO exam is tailed with a one hour offline test, which is considered by the SBI in estimating the final score of the candidates and when it comes to IBPS no such exam is conducted.
- As a part of selection procedure, SBI conducts group discussion to the candidates, but IBPS does not conduct any such group discussions to shortlist the candidates for the job.
- The last state of selection procedure, personal interview is awarded with 100 marks in IBPS whilst in SBI only 30 marks are awarded for personal interview.
- The last difference is the cutoff marks for both SBI and IBPS. IBPS sets low cutoff marks to shortlist the candidates while SBI has a big number as cutoff marks.
