Staff Selection Commission released the syllabus of Stenographer Examination on its official website. It is an online-based test, conducted every year for Recruiting Grade C and D stenographers in Government departments. There are 3 sections in SSC Stenographer question paper. Candidates have to answer questions from all three sections: general awareness, reasoning, and English Language. The exam consists of two phases – Written Test and Skill Test. Candidates who perform well in written test are eligible for SSC Stenographer Skill Test. The question paper consists of 200 questions for 200 marks to be done within 2 hours.
SSC Stenographer Grade C & Grade D Syllabus and exam pattern 2019: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is going to organize stenographer Grade C and Grade D exam this year. It is one of the highly attempted government exams by job seekers. 12th qualified candidates are eligible to take this exam. It is a central government job and many job seekers aspire to get this job. SSC has rolled out official notification for the recruitment of Stenographer Grade C and D recently. Interested contenders can make use of the opportunity and apply for the post on or before the last date. As it is a highly competitive exam, candidates will face tough competition. It is organized by SSC to select candidates for Grade C and D stenographers. More than 1000 people get recruited every year on the required seats. The application fee for general and OBC candidates is Rs.100. Female candidates and SC/ST are exempted from the fee of application of exam.
The exam is conducted in two stages:
- The first stage is an online test which comprises of MCQs.
- The second stage is conducted to test the skills of stenographers

The CBT will be conducted for a duration of 2 hours. There is also negative marking for the wrong answer. For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.

SSC Stenographer Syllabus For Skill Test
Under the skill test, candidates need to take down the dictations. Candidates need to be a pro in shorthand. Candidates will be given 10-minute dictations in English and Hindi to note down. Candidates need to write 100 words per minute for Stenographer Grade C posts and 80 words per minute for Grade D posts.

SSC Stenographer 2016 Syllabus: Section 3 (English Language)
The section-3 contains the following topics that are mostly related to English.
Active and passive voice, Synonyms and antonyms, Homonyms, Fill in the blanks, Direct and Indirect Conversion, Comprehension passage, Spellings, Miss-spelled words detection, Close passage.
General Marking Scheme –The marking scheme contains negative marking. For every right answer, 1 mark will be added and for each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be subtracted. The selection of the candidates for the post shall be based on the marks obtained in this written exam.
SSC Exam Pattern
The written exam will be held on 31 July 2016 at Delhi, Allahabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Chandigarh, and Raipur. The time, date and venues of the exam are subjected to change at the discretion of the commission. Staff Selection Commission
Staff Selection Commission founded in 1975, it is considered as Government organization was set up to make selection and recruitment for various position. SSC has started the recruitment process to the selection of Lower Division Grade (Group ‘C’ ) (LDCE – 2016) through Competitive Examination 2016. Commission every year conduct this examination to make recruitment of Group “C” Staff. Now the commission has released the notification of Limited Departmental Competitive Examination Stenographers Grade C posts under various services/cadres including Central Secretariat, Indian Foreign Services (B) Grade-II, Armed Forces Headquarters, Railway Board Secretariat, Election Commission of India and Central Vigilance Commission respectively.
