West Bengal Civil Service Executive Exam 2017 Apply Online : West Bengal Public Service Commission has disseminated notification welcoming applications for Civil Service Executive exam 2017. WBPSC has divided the posts into A, B, C, D. It is getting ready to conduct prelims exam in the first stage of selection. WBPSC Civil Service Recruitment 2016
All the applicants who are applying for WBPSS Civil Service job should go through the notification to get aware of the educational qualification, age limit etc. We have provided below brief details about the notification in our page below. Applicants should have a degree from any recognized university. Contenders need to have the ability in reading, writing, and speaking in Bengali. Candidates should have minimum age of 21 years and maximum age of 32 years as on 1st January this year. For Group B exams the minimum age limit is 20 years and maximum age limit is 31 years as on 1st January. Contenders must have good health and character and suitability in all respects for appointment to government service.
Eligibility Criteria for WBPSC Recruitment 2016
Educational qualification
Applicants should have a degree from any recognized university. Contenders need to have the ability in reading, writing, and speaking in Bengali.
Age limit
- The minimum age of the candidates should be 21 years and maximum age should be 32 years as on 1st January this year.
- For Group B exams the minimum age limit is 20 years and maximum age limit is 31 years as on 1st
Application fee
The application fee is Rs. 210 for all the general and BC category candidates. For SC/ST candidates of West Bengal and Persons with disabilities (PWD) having physical disability of 40% there is no need to pay any fee.

Exam pattern
The exam pattern followed by WBPSC is Preliminary examination and mains examination.
Preliminary examination
The Preliminary examination will comprise of only one paper i.e., General Studies. The paper contains objective type questions for 200 marks. The exam duration is 2 ½ hours. The paper will be as per the standards of graduates. Below are the subjects that are covered on the prelims exams.

Mains Examination
The mains exam will consist of six papers and one optional subject to choose from. There will be two papers of the option subject of 200 marks each. Each paper is for 200 marks and the duration of the exam is 3 hours. The six compulsory papers comprise
- General studies – I
- General studies – II
- The Constitution of India and Indian Economy including role and functions of Reserve Bank of India
- Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning
- Paper I and Paper II will be of conventional type written exam.
Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the selection rounds. The rounds of selection include
- Preliminary examination
- Mains examination
- Personality test
- Medical examination
Preliminary and Mains Examination
Candidates who qualify in the prelims exam will be eligible for mains exam. Candidates who qualify in the mains exam also will be called to appear for the personality test.
Personality Test
Shortlisted candidates of mains exams of all the Groups A, B, C, and D will be eligible to appear for Personality Test. Candidates will be asked questions on general interest. As the name suggest, the exam is conducted to know the personal qualities of the candidates like alertness of mind, logical thinking ability, leadership qualities etc.
